Former Slaughter and May partner Lucy Wylde has been appointed as general counsel of the Government's Efficiency and Reform Group (ERG). Wylde left Slaughters in April last year to take up a position as GC of the Asset Protection Agency, which was set up by HM Treasury in the wake of the credit crunch to stabilise financial institutions affected by the downturn. Linklaters and Ashurst have taken lead roles on TPG Capital's $800m (£508m) acquisition of hedge fund services company GlobeOp. McDermott Will & Emery and Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft have become the latest US firms to post rising revenues after recent leans years, reports the Am Law Daily. The Chicago-based McDermott, which has seen revenues drop by a combined total of $100m (£63m) during 2009 and 2010, has reversed the trend by recording a 4.7% increase for 2011 to $826m (£524m). with profits per equity partner (PEP) inching up 2.7% to $1.5m (£950,000). McGrigors has advised Jimmy Choo on its move to a new London HQ in Westminster, with the luxury footwear brand taking on 37,000 sq ft on Victoria Street. Clifford Chance (CC), Linklaters and SNR Denton have picked up lead roles after one of Europe?s largest independent refiners, Petroplus, defaulted on $1.75bn (£1.12bn) of debt and filed for insolvency last week ?(24 January).
